Most small business owners are wearing many hats and don’t have the time or energy to pay attention to online marketing.
This is terrible! The vast majority of potential customers are online. They’re not going to find you if you’re not there too!
I’ve built up the experience to do what business owners need but don’t have time for: making sure that customers find your business, rather than your competitors.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?
A budding interest in computers and the internet prompted me to do a stint as web editor for a student magazine at Christendom College.
Jeremy Minick, an alumni of the same college, offered me an internship here at Enable. I dove in and began learning everything I could about internet marketing, poring through websites, youtube channels, and online courses. I enjoyed the work so much that I joined the team full time after graduation – I’ve been here ever since!
What do you do at Enable?
I have two main responsibilities at Enable.
The first is called search engine optimization, SEO for short. I make sure that our clients show up at the top of search results in Google, Yahoo, or other “search engines.” This includes researching keywords, fixing technical webpage details, and building good quality hyperlinks to websites.
The other half of my job title is “Systems Engineer.” Online marketing is an ever-changing landscape, as search engines change their algorithms, new data emerges, and best practices change. To make sure Enable keeps up with the times, I’m tasked with reviewing and creating new internal systems, particularly in the areas of SEO and content marketing.
What do you like about working at Enable?
My teammates. I’m truly blessed to be able to work with such a top-performing and smoothly-running team – they’re constantly amazing me with their talents, knowledge, and dedication!
What’s your background?
I grew up in the northernmost tip of Virginia, near Cross Junction. As the second-oldest of five homeschooled guys, I have been battle-hardened by relentless warfare.
At Christendom College, I (perhaps unwisely) decided to major both in Philosophy and in Classical Languages. It took a lot of work, but I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2018.
What are the values that drive you?
I like winning, and I like helping people. So helping business owners win their market is just about perfect for me!
But something else that really gets me excited is finding hidden information – for example, digging through a marketing account’s analytics to find out what’s holding their search presence back, or finding a piece of highly actionable advice in a long article on link building.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I really love reading and discussing philosophy: classic favorites include Plato, Boethius, and Aquinas, while some of my more recent favorite authors are W. Norris Clarke, James Schall, and Wendell Berry. I also spend time watching and arguing about movies, both old and new.

Matthew is Enable’s SEO strategist and systems engineer. He gets excited about building backlinks and optimizing webpages, so his job is a perfect fit for him. Outside of work, his other nerdy activities include reading ancient philosophers and debating about movies.
